Stargell completed a phenomenal run with the Game Seven victory, adding a World Series MVP award to his NLCS MVP and regular season MVP (shared with St. Louis’ Keith Hernandez) trophies. Stargell hit .400 in the 1979 World Series, crushing three home runs and driving in seven — his two-run homer in the sixth inning of Game Seven erased a 1-0 deficit and proved the decisive blow in Pittsburgh’s 4-1 clincher.
