Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional baseball superstar for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball, widely regarded as one of the greatest two-way players in the sport’s history. Born on July 5, 1994, in Ōshū, Japan, Ohtani began his career with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters before joining MLB in 2018 with the Los Angeles Angels. A rare talent as both a power hitter and pitcher, he has earned multiple league MVP awards and All-Star selections. After signing a historic 10-year contract with the Dodgers, Ohtani helped lead Los Angeles to back-to-back World Series championships in 2024 and 2025, including a standout 2025 season where he hit 55 homers, returned to the mound, and won his fourth unanimous MVP award while cementing his legacy as a transcendent force in baseball
