Elly De La Cruz is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds in Major League Baseball. Born January 11, 2002, in Sabana Grande de Boyá, Dominican Republic, he signed with the Reds as an international free agent in 2018 and made his MLB debut in June 2023. De La Cruz quickly became one of baseball’s most electrifying young stars, known for his rare combination of power, speed, and defensive prowess including joining the exclusive 20-home run/60-stolen base club and being named an All-Star in both 2024 and 2025. He’s also a fan favorite in Cincinnati’s bold City Connect jersey for his dynamic play and highlight-making athleticism
