In 1977, at a Florida Comic-con, 16 year old Todd McFarlane was lucky enough to meet his comic idol, Stan Lee and spent over five hours asking the comic great one all the questions on his young comic creator mind. Today Todd considers Stan still his comic idol and a great friend. Don’t miss your chance to see Stan and Todd together for the official Stan Lee Panel on Sunday, June 8.
McFarlane gained his notoriety in the comic realm in the 1980s and 1990s with his work on Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise which quickly turned into one of the most successful comics of all time. After the success of Spider-Man, McFarlane created his own comic, Spawn, which became one of the best independent comics of all time. After comic success, Spawn was turned into an Emmy award-winning animated show on HBO and a live-action feature film from New Line Cinema that grossed more than $100 million. The Grammy and Emmy award-winning producer/director, McFarlane, continues to work on entertainment projects, including the highly anticipated Spawn film sequel.
McFarlane also founded the international award-winning McFarlane Toys which is a top manufacturer of action figures including AMC’s The Walking Dead, Nickelodeon’s hit TV show Rabbids Invasion, HALO, Assassin Creed as well asNFL, NBA, and MLB action figures.
