Max Mercury was imbued with the power of the Speed Force as a member of the US Cavalry in the 19th century. A dying shaman enchanted Max, granting him unlimited super-speed and the ability to shift his molecules and pass through solid objects. Known over the years as Quicksilver, Windrunner, Whip Whirlwind, and the Zen Master of Speed, Max tried to penetrate the mysteries of the Speed Force many times. Each time he found himself skipping forward in time, with the result that he now finds himself in the 21st century.
