DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF!!!
Since my advice on this subject is pretty lengthy, I’m gonna break it up into TWO blog posts (because I think it ALL needs to be said).
Sometimes, the thing that holds us back the most is OURSELVES. We can be our own worst enemies by NOT doing all that we can towards that goal.
Here are a few simple reminders on how to possibly achieve what you want:
MAKE THE ATTEMPT:
This seems overly obvious, but if you HAVEN’T made a single step towards that goal NO ONE will know you exist and companies CAN’T HIRE you unless they KNOW you exist.
ASSUME THEY WILL SAY “NO”:
This will make it A LOT easier if they do say that DREADED word. This DOESN’T mean you can’t go in with confidence, but that you should be PREPARED at all times, for all questions. It’s harder for people to tell you “no” if you are PREPARED.
Below is sample of some of the work I sent in when I was looking for a job. Obviously I’ve come a long way, but at least I got my stuff our there.
