When I created this image for Spawn issue number one, I wanted to unveil Spawn to a crowd who’d never seen him before. I KNEW this was gonna be an iconic moment in Spawn’s mythology.
Anyways…I wanted to give the illusion Spawn was engulfed by a concrete jungle with fully formed spikes and a GIANT flowing cape (you folks KNOW I love my capes).
My end goal was for fans to JOIN ME on the big ride that Spawn was going to be.
Almost 270 issues,YOU good people are STILL on the wild ride and for that…I thank you!
