I know it’s a few months away, but I’m SO EXCITED about the upcoming Satan Saga Wars!!
Not only has my talented dude Erik Larsen jumped on the Spawn series starting at issue 258, but Al Simmons is FINALLY going to face his GREATEST enemy..SATAN!!!
I know you’ve seen this image floating around on the internet and used in some interviews I gave at New York Comic Con, but I wanted to explain a little about WHY I chose to draw this cover.
If you look at it, the main focus is Satan’s FIST . It shows the SHEER MAGNITUDE of just how BIG Satan is and what a formidable foe he is. You can also see how SMALL Spawn looks next to the fist (almost like Spawn leaping away from a mountain). So for those of you who are expecting an EPIC BATTLE…you will GET IT!!
And since you good people like to see progression videos, here is the cover of Spawn #259, the FIRST in the Satan Saga Wars!
Notice all of the detail I put into the inks. This could look COOL as a black and white cover OR a colored cover.
