I’ve been doing a little cleaning (which is something I don’t do very often) and finding some AWESOME art buried under lots of papers (if you’ve seen my office, you know what I’m talking about). One of the COOLEST things I’ve found so far, is the FIRST chibi Spawn I did a few years ago based on the stylings of Skottie Young.
The one on the left (the first one I did) is VERY different from the current version. I’m NOT saying that one is better than the other, just DIFFERENT.
As as artist, I’m always pushing myself to try NEW art styles…especially now I’ve been in the business for such a long time. And trying new techniques helps me from getting bored!
For you new folks out there that didn’t know, last year I did a little one-shot comic called SPAWN KILLS EVERYONE that was SO popular, we did THREE printings! Then at the Image Comics Expo earlier this year, I announced a follow-up series called SPAWN KILLS EVERYONE TWO (catchy title huh?!) which will debut hopefully by the end of this year!
Looking forward to seeing what the NEWEST chibi Spawn looks like in this upcoming series.
