A few weeks ago, I was at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con and I saw A LOT of AMAZING talent out there!!
Being at conventions reminded me of back when I was out there trying to get a job as an artist.
I KNOW I harp on this issue, but here it is again…GET YOUR WORK SEEN!
When I was sending in submission to editors, most of them were good at giving me critical analysis of my work. As HARD as it was to hear that criticism, they were RIGHT!! So I started off with 20 things wrong then eventually whittled it down to 15, then 10 and then 5.
The fact that they were REALLY looking at my work, judging it and giving me feedback I could use, helped me to IMPROVE.
And once I’d made all those improvements, I was able to get a job.
