As PROMISED here’s a little #FlashbackFriday story about the Spawn FUNNY CAR!!!
I had wanted a funny car for as LONG as I could remember… and in order to convince my lovely wife that I NEEDED this car… I said I would use it for promotion. Of course I had to follow through and actually USE it as promotion.
So I bought a funny car at a swap mart for $5000 and had a friend slap the Spawn logo on the side. It sucked.
BUT!!! Since I had the car, I still needed to use it. So the day of the FIRST SPAWN #1 signing in LA, I had Al Simmons drive the car to California. I had another friend build a covered trailer for the car (because it wasn’t drive-able) and on the way to the signing…. about every two hours…. a PIECE OF THE SIDING from the trailer would fly off.
When Al got the signing, the only thing left was the bottom of the trailer that the car was on…. the rest was left on the I-5 Highway!!!! (I’m laughing as I even type this up!!!)
So that’s a little story behind the Spawn funny car…. and now every time you see it, you’ll get a good laugh.
Oh and sorry about the quality of these photos…. I scanned them in quickly…. but you get the idea.
