We have a young foreign exchange student living with us and he reminded me of this project I did back in the day. For those of you who are TOO YOUNG to remember…I did the artwork AND directed the animated part of a little (ok..not so little) music video with the band Korn called ‘Freak On A Leash’.
I decided to animate the characters me and Greg Capullo did for the album cover called ‘Follow the Leader’. Then I gave them more life and fleshed out the backstory of HOW they got there. After all that, I had to merge the animated story with the LIVE-ACTION part to come full circle back to the animation at the end (try to say all that three times fast).

And even though it was a LOT of work, it paid off because the video ended up winning the Grammy for the Best Rock Video AND Editing in 1999.
What’s COOLER, is later in 2000, we got ANOTHER Grammy for Best Music Video, Short Form which is an honor we NEVER expected to receive!
