MOST artists (including me) are two things…notorious procrastinators and perfectionists.
Put those two together and you have…A MESS! So that being said, the most important thing an artist or really anyone should have, is a DEADLINE!
The first thing I ALWAYS ask when I have a project, is WHEN IS IT DUE?! This is something I’ve done since I first started my career.
One of the most SIGNIFICANT things about my run on The Incredible Hulk, was that it showed everyone at Marvel, I could do Marvel-style storytelling AND meet a deadline.
Meeting a deadline is hard, ESPECIALLY if you are on a monthly book. BUT if you WANT to make it in THIS business or in ANY job, they are very important.
