Yes! I’m hip enough to know what that is (and yes, I just said HIP).
I know I’ve shown this image many times before, but it’s one of my favorite pages from the Spawn series.
Spawn issue three (I’m going way back here), introduces Wanda five years after Al’s death. It’s no coincidence that Al’s Wanda has the same name as MY wife (she’s my Woman Crush Wednesday…well actually my crush ALL THE TIME).
Anyways… I wanted Wanda to be MORE lovely and elegant than Al remembered and when CYAN comes running out, I wanted Al to realize that after five years, things weren’t the same and they couldn’t go BACk to the way they were before.
AND some of you may not know THIS is the FIRST appearance of Jim Downing. Remember him? So even though he didn’t come back till issue 185, I was thinking about that story line all the way back at issue THREE!
