Where are the Wild Things? Right Here

December 29, 1999

McFarlane Toys and renowned children's author Maurice Sendak are currently in negotiations. Tentative plans call for McFarlane Toys to produce a line of action figures based on the ground-breaking children's book Where the Wild Things Are, one of the most popular and influential kids' books of all time.

Sendak is recognized by many as a visionary in the field of children's literature. He was awarded the prestigious Caldecott Medal for Where the Wild Things Are in 1964 and was the first American illustrator to receive the international Hans Christian Andersen Award, given in 1970 for Sendak's entire body of work.
