McFarlane Toys is frightened to announce two new additions to the popular Movie Maniacs line of action figures: The Fly character from the classic 1986 David Cronenberg film "The Fly, "and the Edward Scissorhands character from Tim Burton's 1990 movie of the same name.

The Fly and Edward Scissorhands join the roster of Ash from Sam Raimi's "Army of Darkness," Snake Plissken of "Escape from L.A." fame and The Thing from John Carpenter's movie of the same name.

McFarlane Toys is in negotiations for the final character of the Movie Maniacs III line. Watch this space for an announcement of the final figure.

Movie Maniacs has been one of McFarlane Toys' most popular action figure lines, appealing to both collectors and people who dig scary movies. Launched in 1998, the original Movie Maniacs line included Freddy (from "Nightmare on Elm Street" series), Jason Vorhees (from "Friday the 13th" series), Leatherface (from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), and Eve and Patrick from "Species."

The original line was offered in two versions: "regular" and "extra-bloody." Both versions quickly sold out, with Freddy, Jason and Leatherface being the most popular.

In 1999, Movie Maniacs II was launched, featuring The Crow (from "The Crow"), Ghostface (from "Scream"), Michael Myers (from the "Halloween" series), Chucky (of "Child's Play" fame) and Pumpkinhead (from the "Pumpkinhead" series).

Movie Maniacs II quickly sold out and plans are under way for a small reproduction run to meet additional demand.
