TOUCHDOWN AT THE HALL OF FAME

Kurt Warner Stoked To See His Figure

August 10, 2001

The NFL Hall of Fame Festival was a big hit for both football fans and the members of the spawn.com road gang who were in Canton, Ohio, Aug. 3-6.

Al "Spawn" Simmons and Ken "King of all PR Media" Reinstein were in the spawn.com booth, showcasing two-ups and production prototypes of McFarlane Toys' upcoming sports figures as well as the first packaged samples of McFarlane Toys' NFL Football Series I action figures.

According to Simmons, fan reaction to the sports figures - particularly football, for obvious reasons - was fantastic. Most commented how lifelike the figures were. Though some attendees were familiar with McFarlane Toys, most weren't, which made the event even more fulfilling as it helped welcome new fans into the Spawn fold.

The highlight of the show was the chance to meet Kurt Warner, who did a personal appearance with the two-up of his upcoming action figure. He also signed a packaged production version of the figure and said the figure looked "outstanding."

The Hall of Fame Festival had something for every sports nut. There were athlete signings, concerts, parades and plenty of cool merchandise to check out. For 2001, seven players -- Nick Buoniconti, Marv Levy, Mike Munchak, Jackie Slater, Lynn Swann, Ron Yary and Jack Youngblood - were enshrined among football's legends.

Founded in 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival now ranks as one of the nation's biggest and best sports extravaganzas.
