Spawn.com Gang Will Attend Gravity Games

San Diego Comicon Plans Revised

June 23, 2000

The roving Spawn.com staff is tentatively planning to attend the Gravity Games July 19-23 in Providence, R.I.

The Gravity Games, sponsored by EMAP USA and NBC, is an extreme sports festival featuring aggressive inline skating (street and vert), skateboarding (street and vert), downhill skateboarding, street luge, wakeboarding and those freestyle motocross psychos.

As it stands now, Spawn.com will have an interactive tent in the Festival Village featuring toy and comics displays, product raffles and video game demos.

The sporting events will be broadcast on NBC beginning in October.

Because the Gravity Games dates coincide with Comicon International (and even future Hellspawns can't be in two places at once), the Spawn.com gang won't be able to show off the interactive Spawn van in San Diego this year.

Rest assured, comic book fans, we wouldn't just leave the premiere comics festival unmanned. Several Todd McFarlane Productions artists -- Ashley Wood, Brian Michael Bendis, Danny Miki, Angel Medina, Steve Niles, Nat Jones, Alberto Ponticelli, Jonathan Glapion and Clayton Crain to be exact - will be signing at the Image Comics booth, space 544. Also on hand will be McFarlane executives Larry Marder, Beau Smith, Jim Hedstrom and Terry Fitzgerald, reportedly to be taking part in panel discussions and other acts of mayhem.
