McFarlane Toys Adds Pieces of Sports History To Its Collector Level Program
New MLB Series 31 CL Figures Include Stolen Base Pieces
Monday, March 25, 2013
Talk about a steal! McFarlane SportsPicks has incorporated a piece of a base as part of the Collector Level (CL) program before, but this time around McFarlane Toys put a bit of a twist on the concept. Debuting in MLB SERIES 31, the ultra-rare PREMIER level CL of Mike Trout is an actual part of a base he stole during his record breaking rookie campaign. In fact, we made sure our base has a little bit more of a story….

This is stolen base #48 (Trout stole 49 bases last season), which Mike Trout stole on a beautiful 66 degree Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas against the Texas Rangers on September 30, 2012. Trout started the game with a leadoff walk, and then, with Torii Hunter at the plate, on a 2-2 count from Yu Darvish, he broke for second base and easily beat out a late throw by catcher Geovany Soto.
What else happened in that game you ask? Oh, Trout also hit his 30th homerun, becoming the only rookie to hit 30 HR’s and steal 40 bases in MLB history. Not a bad day at the office.
Be on the lookout for all the awesome CL (SEE CHART) figures included in MLB SERIES 31 when it hits stores this April/May.
