In an announcement sure to please fans all over the world, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane will return to writing the bestselling comic book he himself created.

Spawn Issue 185 (Endgame, Part 1) was a landmark issue that began the bold new direction for the classic comic book. This story arc introduced new characters, and marked the starting point of the new creative team of Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio. This new direction and creative team have resulted in recent issues selling out, creating a frenzy with new and longtime Spawn fans. This energy revitalized the comic book, and became the perfect starting point for a legion of new readers.

If you haven't picked up an issue of Spawn lately, you'd better start. This creative team isn't slowing down as they continue building momentum toward Spawn's milestone issue 200!

McFarlane will resume writing duties beginning with Spawn Issue 191, which will be in stores April 22.

"I've had all these ideas over the years," says McFarlane. "I've been away for a while now, and I finally found time to devote to the book starting with #185. It's been good to get back into comics -- I knew I wanted to get back into the driver's seat when I was ready ... and I'm ready. I got a little selfish and wanted to devote more time to my title character."
