2006 ACTION FIGURE AWARDS ANNOUNCED
In Fourth Annual Online Poll, Collectors Choose the Best of 2006

For the fourth straight year, the McFarlane Toys collectors voiced their opinions on the year's best figures, coming to a consensus to hand out the McFarlane Toys Action Figure Awards. More than 4,000 votes were cast, and winners were named in 20 categories. There's no better judge of our figures than the collectors themselves, so let's take a look and see what you crowned the best figures of 2006.

Although not quite as dominant as last year's near-sweep (football figures won nine of 10 awards in last year's voting), the NFL series continues to pile up the hardware - winning six of our nine Sports Awards for 2006. As a testament to the popularity of our NFL line, 2006 marked the fourth straight year that the NFL series was voted most popular overall, and the fourth straight year that a specific NFL lineup won Lineup of the Year.

ON the action figure side of things, the big winner was LOST Series 1 (based on ABC's hit television series), which took home wins in five of the 11 categories including: Figure of the Year, Best Likeness, Best Packaging, Best Paint and the Best Online Feature.

There were a few tight races, but in the end, the Best Paint category came down to the wire with no clear winner; ending in a two-way tie. And, for those fans who make it a habit to frequent SPAWN.com, and who have spent any amount of time on our lively message boards over the course of the past 12 months, there were no big surprises in the Best Accessory category, where "The Crate" from Bram Stoker's Dracula 2-Pack Boxed Set, an exquisitely crafted fan-favorite, brought home the title.
