McFarlane Toys Rocks Pittsburgh Fans
Friday, July 14, 2006

Last week, the McFarlane staff descended on the "City of Bridges" for MLB All-Star week. Pittsburgh was home to this year's John Hancock All-Star Fan Fest, where we had two exclusive figures for sale: Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell. We made 3,000 of each and featured them in uniforms from their respective 1971 and 1979 World Series Championships. The classic Pirates icons touched the hearts of collectors and local fans alike. Both figures sold quickly, making it a successful event.

We also displayed many of our current products and soon-to-be released figures. We had to pry a few Steelers fans off of the Troy Polamalu/Matt Hasselback two-pack that we brought to display.

We had a great experience in Pittsburgh and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with fans. We'd also like to say thank you to Pittsburgh and Primanti Brothers for satiating our staff with some the largest and messiest sandwiches on the planet.
