Major News Publications and Web Sites Run with Announcement
Friday, May 26, 2006

It started on Tuesday with the announcement in Variety that McFarlane Toys would be producing an exclusive line of action figures based on the characters of ABC Television's smash hit Lost. USA Today ran a paragraph and followed up the next day with a feature story and photograph of our "Charlie Pace" figure in their Life section. Even better -- their online poll posed the question, "Which 'Lost' action figure would you buy?" Thousands voted, and Mr. Eko -- originally far in the lead -- went nose-to-nose with Sawyer, with Kate nipping at their heels. Us Weekly and TV Guide have also expressed an interest in running the story.

In short, this is BIG news.

Lost Series 1 captures six fan-favorite characters from the series' first season: Jack, Kate, Locke, Hurley, Charlie and Shannon. Each 6-inch Lost figure will have a detailed base and photographic backdrop, capturing an episode-specific moment in the character's story. In addition, each package will include a detailed prop reproduction central to the character's story, enabling fans to "own" a piece of the show's mythology. For example, Kate's figure will be packaged with a reproduction of the toy airplane that plays so prominently into her backstory. But wait -- there's more. Each figure will also have sound-chip technology. At the push of a button, you'll be able to hear a sampling of each character's signature lines taken directly from the show's soundtrack.

We will also be releasing Lost deluxe boxed sets -- re-creating key moments between multiple characters, and small-scale dioramas -- replicating central locations such as the mysterious island and the infamous hatch.

The first series of Lost figures is scheduled to be released in November 2006.

We hope you're as excited as we are. More photos and information will be released as it becomes available. In the meantime, check out Charlie and vote in our online poll.
