Live Radio Broadcast Featuring Todd Goes Off Without a Hitch
Friday, February 18, 2005

McFarlane Toys hosted a special event at the McFarlane Toys Store and Showroom in Tempe, Thursday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 10 a.m. in conjunction with the beginning of the NBA All-Star Jam in Denver. The event featured a special live broadcast with 910AM XTRA Sports jocks Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki; McFarlane Toys founder Todd McFarlane was on-hand to sign and greet fans.

As part of the event, the McFarlane Toys Collector's Club offered our newest NBA exclusive figures -- Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony in the team's Hardwood Classics jersey and Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Latrell Sprewell -- to fans that day. The special exclusive figures were available in limited quantities for $10 each and the store was open early at 7 a.m. Both exclusive figures were also offered online at at the same time for worldwide purchase.

Bick and MJ arrived just in time to start the show at 6 a.m. with the McFarlane faithful waiting in line to purchase the exclusive figures and hope that Todd might sign them.

At about 7, Todd arrived, grabbed the mike and started talking about some of the hot topics around the sports world, none more headlining than the cancellation of the 2004-05 NHL season. Also at 7, the doors of the Store opened and fans snagged the Anthony and Sprewell figures while making good use of the storewide sale on other merchandise during the radio broadcast.

During commercial breaks, Todd talked with fans and signed numerous items from toys to baseballs. Fans were able to listen firsthand to Todd talk to Bick and MJ about some of our new lines coming later this year as well as get some insight to the early stages of the development of the recently announced 30-minute program for the FOX network.

We also held a raffle and several locals scored cool prizes.

The Grand Prize winner -- the Marks family -- received a signed set of NBA 8.

Several runners-up each won a randomly selected figure from NBA 8. They are:

The turnout for the event was great and we thank everyone who showed up. We had a very successful exclusive sale with the Carmelo Anthony figure nearing sellout as of Friday afternoon.
