McFARLANE ITEMS BRING $800 AT CHARITY EVENT Event Raises more than $100,000 for Arthritis Foundation Friday, January 14, 2005
Once again this year, Todd McFarlane designed an exclusive Spawn wine label for the Arizona Arthritis Foundation's annual fund-raiser. The event -- the Arthritis Foundation Greater Southwest Chapter Desert Winter Wine Classic -- was held at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ, on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, beginning at 7 pm. Among other items on the silent-auction block were two exclusive Spawn double-magnum wine bottles with Francis Ford Coppola's Diamond Series Black Label Claret 2001. Both bottles were signed and dated by Todd McFarlane. The highest bidder also received 12-inch Spawn i.043 and 12-inch Wings of Redemption figures autographed by Todd. These one-of-a-kind McFarlane items raised $800 in the live action for the Arthritis Foundation. In all, the event raised for than $100,000. "What a thrill to own a piece of Todd's artistry and know that his generosity is working to support those afflicted with arthritis," said winning bidder David Trout, owner of Coffin & Trout Fine Jewelers in Chandler, AZ. "This is the third year I have bid on the Spawn package and finally I persevered." >> CHARITY AUCTION WINE BOTTLE AND TOYS >> CHARITY AUCTION WINE BOTTLE
