SPAWN.COM ONLINE PREORDER STORE GOES LIVE
Collectors Can Pre-Buy Limited Number of Figures Direct
Friday, April 23, 2004

We announced last week an upcoming new program here on spawn.com, a presale ecommerce store where collectors can preorder sets of upcoming figures about three months in advance of their release.

Today, we have the final information to flesh out the program.

This new area -- a separate entity from our current Collector's Club online store -- will offer presales of most upcoming McFarlane Toys action figures.

Though their interfaces will be similar, the current Store at spawn.com and the new presale store don't interact. Thus, all preselling will be done through the new site while the current Store will continue to offer Club exclusives, warehouse finds and other items. Users will not be able to shop between both stores (i.e., buy presale and current items on one shopping cart).

Preselling will begin -- depending on the production schedule -- about three months prior to a particular line's due date. Customers will be charged for the product and shipping when their order is placed and the items will ship as soon as they arrive, roughly the same time that the same items become available at regular retail.

As the program begins, we will limit total presale items on any given piece or set to 200. Customers will only be able to preorder a single item or set per order; limits are set to one preorder of any item per household. When there's a single item available (i.e., KISS boxed set, 12-inch Spawn, etc.), customers are authorized to purchase one of that item; when a particular item is a set (i.e., NFL Series 9) customers may only purchase one complete set, no single items. Variants or chase figures will not be included in these sets.

The new presale server at spawn.com is intended as simply another option for consumers who may have a problem finding our products otherwise. The preorder ecommerce server is now live here.
