"Ten out of 10."
Not a bad rating for a new game that just arrived in stores last week. OK, so that rating came from a member of the spawn.com message boards, but we'll take it. However, the general consensus is that Spawn: Armageddon is a good game, and that's not just from our own fans. We've heard good things from the magazines and Web sites that cover the gaming industry.
Speaking of Web sites, the new site dedicated to the game, www.spawnarmageddon.com, has launched. The site, like the game, is aimed at viewers age 17 and up. It features info and images of the main characters and weapons, as well as screen shots and two videos. Additionally, interested fans can sign up for Namco e-mail updates about the game as well as click through to links of the main partners.
Also, as promised, our special-needs contest intern Cochise has been cleared of all charges and is back on the job. As such, we're rolling out a new contest with prizes that include posters, T-shirts and copies of the game itself in the PlayStation 2, Xbox or GameCube platform. Five lucky winners will walk away with a share of the loot, our early holiday present to our fans. Click here to enter. The contest ends at noon Mountain Standard Time, Thursday, Dec. 11. The winners will be announced here on Dec. 12.
For more information, check out spawn.com's new section about the game. And, look to spawn.com for an update on the planned College Campus tournaments as well as other game-related news. If you've played the game and want to add your thoughts, or want to find out what others think, go to the official Spawn Armageddon discussion thread on the Movies, TV, Music & Games Message Board. The topic is "stuck" to the top of the board.
