Show Airs Friday, Oct 3; Reruns Several Times Over the Next Week
Friday, October 03, 2003

Todd McFarlane is one of the featured guests on this weekend's edition of VH1 Goes Inside. This episode is titled Primetime Cartoons and celebrates the most memorable moments and animated characters in television history. The show will feature clips, interviews with the actors who lent their voices and gave life to the characters, creators, writers, producers and other celebrities about their personal experiences and memories, and revealing insider stories.

Throughout the annals of cartoon history there have always been a few cartoons that shouldn't go on air until after the kiddies go to bed. Maybe it was the language, maybe it was the graphic nature of some of these cartoons, maybe they were just too much for kids to understand, so they went to primetime television. The show finds out secrets inside the primetime cartoon industry. You'll hear how shows began, the original concepts and original names. For example, do you know how South Park came to be? Or that Powerpuff Girls were not originally the Powerpuff Girls? Find out the answers to all these questions and more on VH1 Goes Inside: Primetime Cartoons!

Where's Spawn? Unfortunately, the powers-that-be at VH1 deemed the Spawn animated footage to be too violent for daytime television and all the Spawn footage was cut. However, Todd's commentary is still an integral part of the piece and he'll be seen throughout. Other featured guests include Matt Stone and Trey Parker (co-creators of South Park), Robert Smigel (creator/head writer, Ambiguously Gay Duo and TV Funhouse), Kristofor Brown (head writer/producer, Beavis & Butt-Head), Craig McCracken (creator, Powerpuff Girls) and many more.

The show airs at 4 p.m. EST on Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, with repeats throughout the weekend. Check your local listings for for a schedule.
