Our very own fearless leader and self-proclaimed sports geek Todd McFarlane will be throwing out the first pitch at the Arizona Diamondbacks game this Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1PM PST.
With Todd's college baseball background he is sure to throw a strike... right?
"No. No strike is guaranteed here," McFarlane said. "My throwing is like my sketching -- no short cut version. I would need about 15 minutes or more warm up time to throw a strike," McFarlane joked.
Saturday's game closes in on an end of an era for the Diamondbacks, as it is the final weekend of the season for Luis Gonzalez in an Arizona uniform, as the team has already announced it will not renew his contract for the coming year.
"Seeing Luis play in one of his last games with the D-Backs is pretty cool," McFarlane stated. "He has brought a lot to the organization and city, having been a major piece of the puzzle in winning a pennant a few years back."
Rumors also have it that the D-Backs will be drastically changing their team uniforms, so this could very well be the last time fans see the team cloaked in purple and black.
"It's fun when any organization brings a new look to the uniforms. It will be cool to see the response from the fans," McFarlane adds.
