Filmmakers Todd McFarlane and Peter Care, and producer/Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster attended a press junket early this week at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel for the upcoming feature film The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. (Watch for next week's story on how you can enter to win the official movie poster signed by the Jodie, Todd and the entire cast!)

Joined by supporting teen cast members Kieran Culkin (Cider House Rules, Home Alone, Home Alone 2), Jena Malone (Contact, Life as a House, Stepmom) and Emile Hirsch (most recently seen in several television roles including a recurring role on ER), the ensemble fielded questions for more than 200 media outlets and reporters.

The press junket kicked off with international media outlets representing Scandanavia, Japan, Spain, France, South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The question most asked of Todd was how did he become involved in the project? Director Peter Care (one of the world's top music video and commercial directors) said, "the team's first choice for the animation director was Todd, he's the best in his field and that's who we wanted to work with on the film."

After a lunch break with Jodie and the cast members, Todd did extensive TV interviews including Access Hollywood, Associated Press Television, City TV (Canada), CNN EN ESPANOL, CTV, Daily News from Entertainment Weekly, E! Entertainment, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, FMI TV, Global Television, Hollywood 1:1 (Starz Encore), Hollywood Stars, Inside Reel, Reuters Television, and the TV Guide Channel. Watch for these to start airing over the next week.

In between interviews and photo sessions, Todd and the cast members chatted and let their hair down. Kieran, Emile and Todd talked comics (Kieran's brother has a huge collection of Spawn comics). During a break in the action, Steven Spielberg and Todd had a chance to talk toys. Spielberg and Tom Cruise were also at the hotel promoting their upcoming movie Minority Report. (No Tom sightings, but as Todd and Todd McFarlane Entertainment President Terry Fitzgerald were waiting for the valet to bring the car around, Dustin Hoffman was standing curbside with them.)

On day two, Todd spent the morning and afternoon giving telephone, one-on-one and roundtable interviews with journalists from radio, online and print outlets. LA Daily News will run its feature story on Todd and Peter Care this Friday, and other newspapers nationwide will start rolling out this week. You'll also find articles in Campus Circle, Filmstew, Frontline, LAX Magazine, National Post, Philadelphia Daily News, Showtime, Calgary Sun, Toronto Star and New York Daily News.

The finale of the event was the movie premiere at the Arclight Hollywood Theatre. Long lines of McFarlane fans were on hand with an array of McFarlane action figures and comic books waiting for Todd's arrival. Todd was able to sign for the fans before he made his way down the red carpet. The paparazzi and TV cameras lined the carpet and captured photos/interviews of Todd, Jodie and the cast members as the entered the theater. During her introduction of the film, Jodie thanked Todd for his creative vision and hard work on the animation sequences for the film. The evening ended with a traditional Hollywood after-party celebration with the entire cast, production crew and their families.
