SPAWN AT THE NFL HALL OF FAME
Big Celebration in Canton, Ohio
July 27, 2001
Several members of the Spawn road team will be in Canton, Ohio, Aug. 3-6 for the NFL Hall of Fame Festival.
Al "Spawn" Simmons and others will be working the Spawn booth at the Festival, where we'll be showing off two-ups and prototypes of our upcoming sports figures as well as the first packaged samples of McFarlane Toys' NFL Football Series I action figures.
The Hall of Fame Festival has something for every sports nut. There will be athlete signings, concerts, parades and plenty of cool merchandise to check out. The highlights of the festival are the Hall of Fame game between the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins, and the induction of the newest NFL Hall of Fame members. For 2001, seven players -- Nick Buoniconti, Marv Levy, Mike Munchak, Jackie Slater, Lynn Swann, Ron Yary and Jack Youngblood - will be enshrined among football's legends.
The Midway "Mall of Fame" Tent, where you'll find the Spawn booth, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 5; and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6. Other vendors in the tent include Riddell, Wizards of the Coast and Wilson, who will have an on-site football factory demonstration. Reebok and other vendors are slated for an adjacent tent.
Founded in 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival now ranks as one of the nation's biggest and best sports extravaganzas. The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce's Festival office, in cooperation with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum, plans and produces some 20 events that draw more than 700,000 people to enjoy the festivities.
So, if you're in the area, come on by, check out our upcoming sports figures and immerse yourself in the wide world of football. Hope to see you there.
