The limited-edition Spawn #220: 20th Anniversary Collector’s Special features an homage cover to Spawn #1 drawn by the current Spawn artist, Szymon Kudranski! The Collector’s Special strips the color from all the internal pages, giving fans their first opportunity to see Kudranski's amazing use of shadow work.
As another tribute to the Spawn legacy, fans will discover that the page layouts and panel placements of Spawn #220 are identical to the first issue of the Spawn comic book! If that wasn’t already enough, Spawn #220 includes a revamped Spawn #1 poster created by Clayton Crain!
At the very end of this issue, Todd speaks directly to the fans in a letter encouraging his faithful Spawn followers and fellow artists to “scratch their creative itch.” With so many issues of Spawn hitting shelves this month, Todd also thought it would be helpful if he chronicled Spawn historical moments, from the very first issue, to the rise of Jim Downing.
